Birds and Wildlife
To honor Michigan's annual Crane Festival, I have painted one of these fantastic birds just after it had gotten up from watch over a nest. You can see the original oil at the event in Bellevue, MI- Oct., 10th and 11th, 2009. "Watch on Eagle Point" was inspired when I was out on the lake and this majestic bird flew overhead and landed in the tree so he could look out over the lake. Next in this series is "The Rut" which was inspired by this regal elk in this 2008 autumn's mating season. Once winter was upon us I would get up every morning and look out my studio window and watch the little birds as they waited for me to add more seed to the bird feeder thus inspiring, "Come Winter's Morn". With summer turning fall 2009, I added both "Red-breated Grosbeak" and "Tweet". I will continue adding to this series so be sure and check back from time to time.
